THE ART AND SCIENCE OF MOVEMENT
WHAT IS SPORTS SCIENCE?
Here at Lincoln Performance & Sports Medicine sports science improves athletic performance and helps prevent injury — for all athletes. From occupational athletes to weekend warriors and from amateurs to professionals, sports sciences helps improve performance and progress rehabilitation.
Our blueprint includes:
- Objective data collection
- Movement and technique analysis
- Solution planning and implementation
With some of the latest technology including, Dari motion capture and force plates, we gather objective data that we analyze in the context of our leading movement evaluation and the goals of each athlete.
Armed with this information, our deep knowledge of leading rehabilitation therapies and a decade of experience, we develop individualized plans to address athletes’ technique, strength, speed and endurance.
Sports Performance
We collect pre-season baseline data and vulnerability scores, so we, the athlete, coaches and parents can track the improvement of skills such as
- Vertical
- Rate of force production
- Functional patterns
Athletes can perform sports-specific movements — pitching, batting, throwing — to gathering metrics and glean even further insights. The DARI system provides specific details of what needs to be improved on and incorporated into a strength and conditioning program:
- ROM
- Strength
- Speed
- Rotation strength
- Rotational speed
Sports Injury
In the unfortunate case that an injury does occur for an athlete, the saved baseline data can help ensure any rehabilitation conducted has allowed the athlete to reach pre-injury function
Force Plates
Force plates measure the ground reaction forces generated by a body standing on or moving across them, to quantify balance, gait and other parameters of biomechanics.
Benefits:
- Objective data collection for upper and lower extremities
- Track improvement
- Identify asymmetries
- Reduce the risk of future reoccurrence
