“You are very different from them. How would you describe what you do?”
Several Patients
I get this question all of the time. The fact is, I hold my doctorate in chiropractic, but the traditional definition doesn’t fit me very well. So, I typically answer this question with my story — abridged, if necessary, for time. In this case, here’s the whole thing.
Before entering chiropractic school I studied athletic training and exercise science at Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) while working as a trainer in the NWU athletic department and as a physical therapy tech. A severe back injury during my senior year of basketball at NWU led me to chiropractic care, which eventually led to my decision to attend chiropractic school at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo.
During doctorate school, my intense curiosity led me to explore far beyond the typical chiropractic education, seeking out information from a number of additional sources including neurology, physical therapy, orthopedics and strength and conditioning. Through this exploration of various disciplines, I continued learning — and eventually teaching — and created a truly unique assessment and treatment protocol based on the fundamental understanding that each patient is different and any sort of disciplinary partiality is detrimental. Each patient’s unique findings and needs should be assessed without bias or restricted perspective from one narrow type of therapy. The LPSM BluePrint
I started in this profession with a special interest in conservative care of the spine, which is still the case, but if you are truly a spine expert you also have to be an expert in function of the upper and lower extremity, the jaw and have an appreciation for visceral and systemic diagnosis as well. Therefore, I work on dysfunctions of not only the spine, but also the extremities, jaw, and when needed, I order and assess lab work. Dr. Ideus’ CV
“I learned growing up that to be successful you have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone. That’s why I constantly continue to learn — to give my patients the best possible care that exists. Patients know I will work as hard as humanly possible to help them out and truly care about their well being.”

My vision in creating Lincoln Performance and Sports Medicine was to offer the best possible service to my patients, and I can only do that if I am as dedicated to my craft as they are to theirs. There is so much discussion of “purpose” within the world of entrepreneurship and personal growth, and I have concluded that my purpose is to help others reach theirs. Injuring my back was devastating. I had dedicated nearly half my life at that point to basketball. Thousands of hours. I know intimately how pain can hold someone back mentally and physically. That being said, I also understand the drive for ultimate performance. We can have both — we don’t have to stop at eliminating pain, we can also pursue excellence in sport, business and life.
“It is my goal that after meeting me you feel that someone has genuinely listened to you, understands your situation and sincerely cares about helping you achieve your goals in the most effective way possible.”

All of this being said, you wouldn’t know me at all if I didn’t tell you about three important aspects of myself outside of this practice. My wife, Katelyn, has been and continues to be a true partner in life and business, an amazing mother and the brand strategist for this practice. We have three people who we work every day to make proud — our children. Bobby, Anna June and Ileen are the reason Lincoln Performance and Sports Medicine exists and continues to strive for excellence. Finally, I am a proud smalltown Nebraskan who serves as the fourth generation farmer for Ideus Ag, LLC, in Filley, Neb.
